The following components of the Water Supply Scheme were recommended for upgrading: • Construction of a River abstraction works on Tugela River • Conveyance pipeline from Tugela River to the water purification plant • Construction of the 16ML/Day water Treatment Plant Components of water purification plant i.e. receiving well, mixing basin,flocullation basin, sedimentation basin, rapid sand filters, clear water reservoir, chemical dosing rates(chlorine dosing and flocculants dosing rates)and booster pump station i.e. pump sizing and required number of pumps. • Distribution pipe diameter from the Water Purification Plant to the service • Clear water distribution reservoir capacity • Pipe water reticulation to facilitate yard connection of households. Project 2: Mbono Bulk Water Supply Infrastructure Client: UMzinyathi District Municipality Appointment date: November 2010 The upgrade of Mbono bulk water supply Scheme is based on the projected water demand for the year 2030. The following components of the Water Supply Scheme were recommended for upgrading: • Clear water distribution reservoir capacity • Pipe water reticulation to facilitate yard connection of households. Project 3: Upgrade of Dundee Bulk Water Supply Infrastructure Client: UMzinyathi District Municipality Appointment date: November 2010 The upgrade of Dundee bulk water supply Scheme is based on the projected water demand for the year 2030 which was compared to the existing scheme capacity. The following components of the Water Supply Scheme were recommended for upgrading: • Construction of the abstraction works on Nhsingwayo Dam • Conveyance pipeline from Nshingwayo Dam to the water purification plant • Construction of the 19ML/Day water Treatment Plant Components of water purification plant i.e. receiving well, mixing basin,flocullation basin, sedimentation basin, rapid sand filters, clear water reservoir, chemical dosing rates(chlorine dosing and flocculants dosing rates)and booster pump station i.e. pump sizing and required number of pumps. • Distribution pipe diameter from the Water Purification Plant to the service • Clear water distribution reservoir capacity • Pipe water reticulation to facilitate yard connection of households. ACHIEVEMENTS • Designed and supervised construction rehabilitation works of a 5m high Mumbwa earth dam in Zambia. • Designed and supervised construction new water reticulation interconnecting service reservoirs in Botswana. • Designed and supervised construction of a new 500mm sewer outfall in Botswana. • Designed and supervised construction works of 6.6ML/day Ganala/Thubehlihle Wastewater Treatment Plant: Emahlahleni Local Municipality (South Africa). • Designed and supervised construction works upgrade works of Donkerport Water Treatment Plant: Modimolle Local Municipality (South Africa). • Developed the approved business plan of the proposed upgrade of the existing Donkerport Water Treatment Plant (South Africa). • Developed the approved business plan for the proposed upgrade of the existing Steynsrus Water Treatment Plant: Moqhaka Local Municipality (South Africa). • Developed the approved business plan for the proposed rehabilitation and upgrade of Nsuze Water supply scheme: iLembe District Municipality (South Africa). • Developed the approved business plans for the proposed upgrade of Mbono phase 3 and phase 4 bulk Water supply schemes: UMzinyathi District Municipality (South Africa). • Developed the approved business plan of Dundee Bulk Water Supply Project: UMzinyathi District Municipality (South Africa). • Designed and developed the tender documents for proposed construction of an 8ML/day Sampofu Package Water Treatment Plant. : UMzinyathi District Municipality UMzinyathi District Municipality (South Africa). • Supervised construction works of Msinga River abstraction works Pump station: UMzinyathi District Municipality (South Africa). • Supervised construction works of the 8ML/day Sampofu Package Water Treatment Plant: UMzinyathi District Municipality (South Africa). • Supervised construction works of Mbono phase 2A construction works: UMzinyathi District Municipality (South Africa).
