The excitement of being an Engineer lived up to all his expectations. He literally enjoyed the engineering work so much that he looked forward to going to work and he could not believe that he was getting paid for it. The job only got better as he became more experienced, leading to more confidence that he could handle the job regardless of what came along. A year later after working as a Water Engineer he was sent for further training to study Water Supply Engineering in Japan for a period of three(3) months and obtained a Certificate in Water Supply Engineering and Water Works Engineering. Two(2) years into his career as a Water Engineer, in Lusaka ,he was appointed Project Manager of JICA aided groundwater development project for rural areas of Central,Copperbelt and Lusaka province. This gave him a new dimension of experience and he learned a lot during his years as a Project Manager. he did this for six years. After his time as Project Manager of JICA aided groundwater development Project, he was appointed as a Provincial Water Engineer for Central Province in Zambia. He was later sponsored to study Master’s degree in Water resources development focusing on dams and hydropower development at IHE-UNESCO Holland for a period of twelve (12) months. He worked as Provincial Water Engineer for one (1) year and was later appointed to work in the Department of Water Resources development focusing on Water Resources assessment. A year later he left the Department of Water Affairs in Zambia and moved to Botswana where he worked for Kweneng District Council as a Principal Water Engineer. He worked for Kweneng District Council from 2003 to 2007.After the expiry of his contract in Botswana he moved to South Africa where he joined Masetlaoka Scott Wilson, a Civil Engineering Consulting firm as a Civil Engineer in the Department of Water and Sanitation .Two (2) years later he was promoted to a position of Senior Civil Engineer. Five years later he left Masetlaoka Scott Wilson, and Joined Aveng, where he was briefly as well as Nhlengani Engineers and ultimately at Ibhongo Consulting Where he now works as a Senior Civil Engineer. In closing his biography, the most important thing in his life, his family. He is married to his best friend, Siphelile Mpofu. They knew each other and were just close friends for one (1) year and have been married for twenty three (23) years. They have four (4) daughters namely Esther, Jane, Peninah and Orpah.
